A New Heart for Old Town
Old Town Scottsdale has always been more than a place. It is a living expression of the city’s identity — its culture, its creativity, and its sense of community. Museum Square is designed to honor that legacy and extend it into the future. Located on 7.34 acres at the southern edge of Old Town’s Arts District, Museum Square transforms a long-dormant city parcel into a dynamic new neighborhood. Luxury hospitality, high-end residential living, cultural programming, and activated public space come together in a cohesive urban fabric rooted in the spirit of place that defines Scottsdale.

Desert Classic Contemporary
Drawing from its surroundings, SWABACK worked with complementary materials, scale, and form to create buildings that feel native to their context. Grounded in the textures and palette of the Sonoran landscape, the aesthetic is desert classic contemporary — refined for a world-class mixed-use destination.

Culture, Community, and Place
At the center of Museum Square is The Square — an expansive multipurpose public plaza designed for events, exhibitions, markets, and community life. The Museum Square Hotel, a 190-room four-star property, is positioned in direct relationship to the Museum of the West, with a street-level restaurant, outdoor dining terrace, wine bar, and retail activating the pedestrian experience throughout the day and evening. Four luxury residential buildings bring a permanent resident population into the heart of Old Town, strengthening the galleries, shops, and restaurants that have defined Main Street for generations.

The public realm investment extends beyond the project boundaries. North Marshall Way is reimagined as a pedestrian-priority corridor connecting to Main Street, the Scottsdale Canal, the Waterfront, and Scottsdale Fashion Square. Second Street links the development westward to the Civic Center’s arts campus. These improvements are fundamental to Museum Square’s role as connective tissue for all of downtown.
