Mummy Mountain – Paradise Valley residence

SWABACK designed a Paradise Valley residence that integrated seamlessly with its hillside setting, sculpting a terraced dwelling of travertine and steel. The design prioritized “oneness” with the landscape, offering contrasting city and mountain views while balancing the homeowners’ differing tastes.

The low, elongated structure followed the terrain, minimizing visual impact. Terraced zones provided unique perspectives, connecting interiors to the environment. Material choices, like travertine, steel, and walnut, created a layered aesthetic, enhanced by a neutral palette.

Meticulous detailing, clean lines, and custom elements defined the architecture. The powder room’s walnut countertop and copper backsplash, along with the master suite’s features, exemplified the design’s unique spaces. The residence successfully blended architecture with nature, reflecting the homeowners’ preferences.
